One of the first things parents seem to notice when traveling with their kids is that Cancun greets them with open arms. Children are loved and adored in Mexico, they even have their day (like Mother and Father Days) on April 30, known simply as Dia del Niño.
Diapers and a plain basket of necessities (clean wipes, general moisturizing creams, etc.) are readily available on Cancun. However, if you have specialized creams, medicines, etc. for your children – take them with you, as well as any prescriptions. You should also bring an insect repellent intended for families/children. Do a patch test before your vacation to make sure your baby is not having any skin reactions.
Water and beach toys
The Coral Negro supermarket offers basic beach/pool toys as well as inexpensive floats, towels, sun hats, etc. So, save some luggage space and buy on Cancun.
Solar care for children in Mexico
Children who used to live in a temperate climate will get heavily sunburned by Cancun’s sun without proper protection. Make sure your kids are fully protected by forcing them to wear eco-friendly, waterproof, high-factor sunscreen lotion as well as a swim t-shirt with protection. Remember to pack a hat and sunglasses for them.
A two-way radio is great. They come 2 miles and 5 miles of fury to take them on vacation while traveling with their kids.
Pack a first aid kit for your children: patches, antiseptic wipes, antibiotic ointment, cold and fever tablets/syrup with a plastic spoon, rash cream, and stomach pain medication.
Every parent knows how easy it is for children to get food; long flight, departure delays, the occasional rainy day, etc. You know what your child likes best and what to pack.
